Julian Simon (b.1994) in Germany, lives and works in Berlin.

Julian Simon's compositions resemble fleeting snapshots, yet the figures within them carry a sculptural, almost clay-like presence: Motifs that feel as though they hover on the surface of the canvas, hinted at only by a soft shadow, evoking a yearning for what might have been, or for the embellishment of the everyday. Through this layering, Simon turns recollection into a complex visual narrative. 

The consistency of a restricted color palette, often applied with a single brush, binds the figures and settings together with a misty, cohesive atmosphere. This veil-like quality, hovering across the imagery, lends the works a sense of reminiscence tinged with melancholy, as if drawn directly from fragments of memory.
